Company Introduction
McCormick Community Management is a community management firm owned and operated by Lynn McCormick, an experienced and innovative community manager who understands that some communities need a manager to work with them, not just work for them. The experience that Lynn brings to each Association that she manages is the cornerstone to a strong working relationship. She believes that a healthy partnership with the Board of Directors is necessary and to maintain that partnership she manages with integrity, transparency, and compassion. The partnership with the Board of Directors is further strengthened by productive relationships with the community members, contractors, attorneys and accountants.
Management Background and Philosophy
Lynn has worked as a portfolio community manager for 10 years, the majority of which was spent at one company. Over the years she completed all of
CAI’s 200-level courses, earned the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) designation, and established a great reputation with her communities, contractors and fellow managers. Lynn decided to leave management in March 2012 to pursue other interests including employment on the “other side of the fence” working for a pool contractor that exclusively services associations. Once outside of the community management field, Lynn realized that she wanted nothing more than to get back in, but on her terms and with a healthy approach to community management.
The first step toward reestablishing herself in the business came in January 2013 when Lynn earned the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation. The PCAM designation is the highest professional recognition available nationwide to managers who specialize in community association management. In order to maintain this designation and to stay informed of relevant community management topics, Lynn attends seminars, takes classes and writes articles for published and online resources in the community management industry.
In her everyday life Lynn adheres to basic principles: honesty, integrity, consideration, respect, careful planning and deliberate actions. In both her personal and profession life, Lynn refuses to participate in actions that do not adhere to these principles and she celebrates the fact that she can incorporate them into
work that she can be proud of.
